On ‘Now Or Never’ Djinn City continue to explore their Tatar roots, clashing pop and electronica with pentatonic guitars common in Tatar music and haunting samples of quray and vargan. The bombastic ending features Russian indie stars Harajiev Smokes Virginia! playing the “greek chorus” part. Cover art is based on a traditional Tatar ornament.

Djinn City is an electronic duo. Their debut EP, coproduced by legendary producer Michael James (Chicago, New Radicals, Hole), consists of 80s leaning pop, while their second EP Yort includes influences from dance music and Tatar folk tunes, some of which they have collected in field expeditions.
